Extended guarantee against rusting through

A new painting process has given Amazone the confidence to provide its ZA-V and ZA-TS mounted fertiliser spreaders and ZG-TS bulk versions with a seven-year rust penetration guarantee.Fine-tuned during the last 12 months, the three-stage process comprises an initial ‘galvanising’ of the pre-cleaned metal to both rust-proof and roughen the surface to allow the primer to key to the metal. This is followed by a cathodic primer process which charges the paint to the surface, as well as coating the insides of box sections and tubes giving an even thickness on both edges and flat surfaces.“This coat then forms the perfect non-penetrative layer to put the new powder coating process onto which is then oven baked to form a hard crust on the outside,” comments managing director Simon Brown of Amazone Ltd, who stresses that something the company cannot legislate for is the physical paint damage caused by general wear and tear.“There will be some bumps and bangs which could end up with the outer paint protection broken but not down to the metal. Also, the fertiliser contacting areas of the spreaders are all made from stainless steel or plastic, including the new plastic filling sieves which have been a problem with paint wearing off them in the past.”Available on model year 2022/2023 spreaders, the extended seven-year rust-penetration guarantee can be applied for free of charge in the myAMAZONE digital customer portal. For more up-to-date farming news click here and subscribe now to profi for just £3.99 an issue.
