Faster and more affordable precision

John Deere says that its new G5 display family and JDLink M modem make precision ag technology faster, more powerful, and more affordable.Claimed as one of the most powerful displays available, the full HD resolution G5 comes with additional memory and increased processing power. The familiar user interface is said to provide a performance boost without the need for lengthy re-learning.There are two portable versions (10.1” G5 and 12.8” G5Plus), which can be used on all brands, two integrated monitors for specific John Deere machines and an extended monitor option.Offering up to a third more space for maps and information compared to the predecessors, both displays offer additional protection through their water resistance (IP65). The G5 Plus comes with AutoTrac and section control as standard. Full AEF ISObus compatibility remains and all G5 displays retain the interface from G4 displays. The new license program for advanced features means that you only pay for what you need, and upfront costs are reduced. Both displays will be available for order later this year, and the G5/G5Plus CommandCenter will be available on John Deere machines from model year 2024.Farmers and contractors with a mixed fleet can continue to take advantage of connectivity between machines and the cloud. Offering an affordable alternative to the JDLink R modem, the new JDLink M modem is a plug and play solution allowing mixed fleets to be fully equipped easily. Both R and M modems are compatible with the SAE J1939 protocol and can process over 14 data points from different machine brands. This compatibility enables the management of an entire mixed fleet in just one John Deere portal:  Operations Center and StarFire 7000.For more up-to-date farming news click here and subscribe now to profi for just £3.99 an issue.
