App to optimise grass silage process

Pöttinger says that its Harvest Assist app provides an intuitive and structured overview to simplify and optimise the coordination of all equipment involved in the grass silage process.Providing team members with an overview of each field, and current status (mowed, tedded, raked, or collected), as soon as a task is finished, the tractor or self-propelled machine operator changes the field status. This alerts the operator of the next machine and in the live location mode the position of each one is displayed on a map in real time. The algorithm that calculates the optimum harvest sequence is worth mentioning. Grass silage volumes, the distance between each field and the farm and the compaction performance on the clamp are superimposed on the display. In theory this provides trailer or wagon drivers with information on the optimised harvesting sequence so that they deliver crop to the clamp at regular intervals to avoid peaks.Available for iOS and Android, it is said to be easy to add fields to the app and assign them to individual machines, and the integrated navigation system allows operators to find each field and drive back to the clamp. Installation is free and the Harvest Assist app is available in English, German, French, Polish and Czech. For more up-to-date farming news click here and subscribe now to profi for just £3.99 an issue.
