SIP to show new mowers and rakes

Slovenian manufacturer SIP will show a new 10.2m disc mower conditioner combi and two new ranges of twin rotor rakes at Agritechnica next month.Fitting the Disc-HD1000DFS (10.2m) disc mower combi with cross conveyor belts to allow it to mow, condition and merge swaths in one operation, and 515mm of side-shift each side of the cutter bar ensures plenty of overlap when working on slopes and in field corners.Hydro Pneumatic Suspension is said to significantly reduce cutter bar wear and fuel costs, and the aerodynamic shape of the newly designed skids and 409mm-diameter cutting-discs prevents cut material from accumulating in the cutter bar area. Each disc is equipped with the DDSS (Disc Drive Safety System). Introduced by SIP in 2007, discs are protected against damage by shear pins integrated into a double flange.Other notable points include the Overload Monitoring System. This early warning system alerts operators to even the slightest rotation speed drop anywhere along the driveline.New SIP rakesThe Star R860/26TS (side delivery) and Star R930/28TC (centre delivery) are aimed at businesses seeking a simple to use, transport and maintain rake. With a maximum working width of 7.2m when creating a single side swath, the side delivery R860/26TS rows up 15m of grass in just two passes, and the versatile machine is said to be capable of covering up to 12.5ha/hr. Smaller working widths will follow in the future. Sequential Rotor Lift (SLR), standard on the R860/26TS, allows operator to customise the delay in partial lift of the rear rotor. With a working width from 8.15-9.25m and a capacity of up to 13ha/hr, the Star R930/28TC sits between the existing Star 1000/30T (flagship in the centre-delivery range) and R870/26TC. The company plans to expand the range with two smaller models at some point. Both ranges are available in standard and advanced ‘H’ specification. Standard spec includes mechanically operated rotor height and swath curtain adjustments. The advanced configuration is equipped with hydro-pneumatic rotor protection and hydraulic rotor height adjustment. A hydraulically adjustable rear swath curtain is standard on the R860/26TSH.Other features of both ranges include the 155-degree turning angle of the pivoting linkage. Integrated with a steering mechanism connected to the rear wheels of the transport frame, the design is said to result in maximum stability on the road with the 9.3m transport frame of the R860/26TS and 6.75m frame of the R930/28TC.Transport widths of both rakes is below 3.0m, and the R860/26TS and R930/28TC both weight 2.8t. Tractor power requirement is around 60 and 80hp, respectively. For more up-to-date farming news click here and subscribe now to profi and save 47%.Share this:TwitterFacebookRedditWhatsApp by Steven Vale More From This Author
