Larger Amazone Pantera and wider trailed booms

There has been a lot of changes to the Amazone sprayer line-up, with tweaks to existing models and new additions. For instance, the Pantera 4504 is now joined by the 7004 with a nominal capacity of 6,600-litres.Like the 4,500l version which is now adorned with the latest Claas supplied cab, the big self-propelled shares the same ‘wet’ setup controls and spraying hardware with the 4504.But it does gain a new chassis. This uses a trailing arm linkage for each corner. Not only does this still ensure that the wheel stays in contact with the ground but the hydraulic pneumatic suspension provides slope compensation working in a similar manner to hillside levelling on a combine so the machine remains level.Other highlights include a hydraulic track width adjustment for not only altering to different track widths, but also allows the rear wheels to be extended slightly wider so they are travelling on fresh ground.Direct Inject is something which has been shown on the UX01 already, but this is now coming to both self-propelled models. It allows an extra product to be added while spraying where you do not want a blanket application. Combine this with application maps and the system can respond even quicker to maximise chemical saving.Speaking of trailed models, the new Super L3 boom on the UX5201 increases the maximum working width to 48m. This is a four-fold design with the inner sections being steel and the outer aluminium to save weight on the 30-45m, while on the widest 48m version the second to last section is constructed from carbon fibre. The Super L3 also features a new boom control system to reduce fore and aft movement. UF02 mounted sprayers now have the option of swapping out the mechanical control to an active hydraulic setup. This will be offered on booms wider than 27m and is called ContourControl. This also brings independent left and right boom up/down movement to maintain an even spraying height on uneven ground. The Pantera 7004 and Super L3 boom will be on the Amazone stand at Agritechnica. For more up-to-date farming news click here and subscribe now to profi and save 47%.Share this:TwitterFacebookRedditWhatsApp by Steven Vale More From This Author
